RHS Cardiff Flower ShowOur first show for 2010 saw us in the shadow of Cardiff Castle for the RHS show at Bute Park. We enjoyed a weekend of glorious weather in this magnificent park. Plant sales were strong on all three days and we were awarded a Silver Gilt Medal.

 | Harrogate Spring Flower Show
Next it was off to North Yorkshire and the Harrogate Spring show. Again the weather during the day was wonderful, although there were some sharp frosts at night - not good for Martyn sleeping in the back of the van! Here we were awarded a Gold Medal.

Bath Spring Flower ShowNext came the Spring Show in the historic Royal Victoria Park, not far from the famous Royal Crescent, in the beautiful city of Bath. The weather however, was not very spring-like, with Sunday being particularly miserable. We were awarded a Large Gold Medal. Fortunately judging happened before part of the display collapsed, so visitors on the first day did not see the pristine exhibit which the judges had. A quick repair in the evening restored the display to it's former glory and the picture shows Martyn in front of the stand. Thanks must go to the organisers of the show, who make all exhibitors very welcome and look after us so well.

 | Malvern Spring Flower Show
From Bath it was a short trip north to the scenic Malvern showground. Don and Trevor dropped off a fresh load of bloom and plants on the Bank Holiday Monday and Martyn arrived Monday evening, after finishing at Bath, to spend two days setting up. This was one of our biggest exhibits this year, at 30 feet in length. We acheived an RHS Gold Medal.

Royal Welsh Smallholder & Garden Show After a few days at home, it was off to Builth Wells for this show. Very much a rural show, with plenty of livestock, but also a good floral hall. A warm, sunny day on the Saturday saw a record crowd and, despite a poor forecast, the Sunday was fine as well. We were awarded a Large Gold Medal and Reserve Best in Show.
 | Garden Show Ireland
After a successful Open Evening at the nursery Martyn set off for the port of Holyhead for the ferry trip to Dublin and then a drive up to Hillsborough just south of Belfast. This show is set in the grounds of the historic Hillsborough Castle and, at long last, some warm sunny weather set in for the weekend. This was a relief, as the marquee was open-sided, and windy weather could have been disastrous for the exhibit. We were awarded a Gold Medal.

RHS Chelsea Flower ShowWe are proud to announce that we have been awarded an RHS Gold Medal at the 2010 Chelsea Flower Show.
For this year's show we created a circular display, which impressed the judges, and was much admired by the public. Business was good all week and it was nice to meet many existing and potential customers.
 | Gardening Scotland
After a couple of days at home Martyn made the trip north to Edinburgh and one of the noisiest showgrounds of the year, it being right beside Edinburgh airport! Returning to the first show at which we could sell plants last year it was good to meet many people who had bought plants and, despite the severe winter weather, had been successful in over-wintering them. We were awarded a Gold Medal.

Royal CornwallFollowing straight on from Gardening Scotland came The Royal Cornwall Show at Wadebridge, a distance of some 550 miles from Edinburgh! Fortunately the nursery is just a short detour off the M6, which allowed Martyn to pick up a fresh load of flowers and selling plants. Here we were awarded a Large Gold Medal and the Richards and Osborne Trophy for the Best Use of Colour.
 | RHS Gardener's World Live
Straight back to the nursery from Cornwall on Saturday night and then a quick turn around to get to Birmingham on the Sunday afternoon. Here we staged a 25 foot long exhibit and received an RHS Gold Medal. The show opened on Wednesday and sales have been strong on all days.

Lincolnshire Agricultural Show After a successful five days at the NEC, and back to the nursery on Sunday evening, it was a cross-country trip to Lincoln on the Monday. Martyn set up the exhibit and did the Wednesday. Trevor came across early on the Thursday with a fresh load of flower and selling plants for Martyn to take onto his next show. Trevor stayed and finished off Lincoln whilst Martyn went off to Axminster in Devon. At Lincoln we received a Large Gold medal.

 | Axe Vale Garden Festival
Having left Trevor in Lincoln, Martyn made the long trip to Axminster arriving on the Thursday afternoon to set up on the Friday ready for the weekend. The weather had turned warm over the last few days and so it continued for the this lovely, relaxed show. Here we received a Large Gold Medal.
Arley Hall Garden FestivalWhilst Martyn was at Axminster Trevor, fresh back from Lincoln, set up and manned the local Arley Hall Garden Festival. Having had a quick lesson in staging from Don, Trevor staged the exhibit on his own and was awarded a Gold Medal.
 | Royal Norfolk Show
Next for Martyn was Royal Norfolk and, like last year, it was very hot. Open to the whole showground this year, a much improved Floral Marquee saw two good days trading. Here we gained a Gold medal.
Hampton Court Palace Flower Show Next came the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. After a safe journey to the show this year Martyn staged our largest ever exhibit, with 40 bowls in a corner display. This novel design was a great hit with the judges, from whom we received an RHS Gold Medal, and also the public. The next six days, in the newly positioned marquee, saw some of the hottest weather of the year.
 | Great Yorkshire Agricultural Show
With Hampton Court not finishing until Sunday evening Don and Trevor staged the display in Harrogate. After a quick pack up at Hampton Court, Martyn travelled back to the nursery on Sunday evening. Then, on Monday, loaded fresh selling stock and set off for Harrogate to prepare the selling tables ready to open on Tuesday morning. We were awarded a Large Gold medal.

Royal Welsh Agricultural Show The next port of call was Builth Wells and the Royal Welsh. This is a huge show with a very large audience who come from all over the country to this lovely part of Wales for a four day show, many staying for the whole week. We were awarded a Large Gold Medal.

 | RHS Tatton Park Flower Show
With Martyn in Builth Wells the Tatton Park show was staged, and manned, by Don and Trevor. Here they used three pillars of flower to add an extra dimension to the exhibit. We received an RHS Gold Medal.
New Forest and Hampshire County Show After the Royal Welsh Martyn travelled to Brockenhurst in the New Forest for his next show. Although only small, by agricultural show standards, this is one of the nicest county shows. We were awarded a Large Gold Medal and the Compton Cup for Best in Show.
 | Bakewell Show
So that we could fit in Ayr Flower Show this year Bakewell was staged and manned by Trevor. He did all of the staging on his own and, obviously made a good job of it, as he was awarded a Large Gold Medal and the trophy for Best Exhibit in the flower show.
Ayr Flower Show With Trevor in Bakewell, Martyn made the journey north to the west coast of Scotland for this show in Rozelle Park on the outskirts of Ayr. This was the 50th anniversary year of the show and, in a well filled marquee, we were awarded a Large Gold Medal and the Royal Scottish Automobile Club trophy. No one, not even the organisers, seemed to know what the trophy was for but it is always good to receive the extra recognition!
 | Shrewsbury Show
With Martyn now taking a weeks holiday, Don and Trevor set off to stage Shrewsbury. Here we were awarded a Large Gold Medal and the Edith Aveling cup for the Finest Exhibit in the Quarry Marquee.
Southport Show With Martyn still on holiday, Trevor and Don made the trip to Southport. Tevor did most of the staging as Don also had a stand for his own nursery to set up. We were awarded a Large Gold medal and the Liverpool Daily Post Centenary trophy for the Best Exhibit of Chrysanthemums.
 | Edenbridge and Oxted Agricultural Show
Over the Bank holiday weekend it was all the way down to Surrey for Martyn to the Edenbridge and Oxted Show, a large agricultural show which has a reputation for being a very friendly show enjoyed by a great number of families over the two days. Here we were awarded a Large Gold medal and the Hussey and Hammond Trophy for the Best Exhibit of a single type of plant.
Dundee Food and Flower Festival This week Martyn made the long journey north to the beautiful city of Dundee on the Firth of Tay. Here in Camperdown Park, an old estate with some wonderful mature trees, the local council run this very friendly show. The photo shows our exhibit as well as the sales table with our Showcase range of potted Chrysanthemums which have proved to be a hit with the public. We were awarded a Gold Medal.
